The Cologne Journal of Sociology and Social Psychology is published and edited by the Institute for Sociology and Social Psychology (ISS) of the University of Cologne.

 

The journal Cologne Journal of Sociology and Social Psychology consists of

·        the editors

·        a scientific advisory board

·        the editor in chief

·        the student assistants of the editorial office and

·        other members of the editorial staff.

The Board of Directors of the ISS appoints qualified persons to the editorial board of the journal on the proposal of the current ediotors. If the Board of Directors and the editors cannot agree on suitable persons, the Scientific Advisory Board shall appoint a person from the proposals of the Board of Directors and the editorial board. The editors run business on their own authority and are not bound to decisions on editorial questions by the Board of Directors.

The editorial board consists of three persons. They are appointed for a period of five years. One-time reappointment is possible.

One of the editors is to be appointed from among the voting members of the Board of Directors. If his or her full-time activity at the Institute ends or if he or she resigns as editor, a new editor from among the voting members of the Board of Directors of the ISS shall be appointed as soon as possible. Until a new editor is appointed, the departing one will continue his or her activities on a temporary basis.

In consultation with the Board of Directors, the editorial board shall form a Scientific Board of the journal. The members of the Scientific Board are appointed for a period of five years. One-time reappointment is possible. The number of members of the Board shall not be less than six. The task of the Scientific Advisory Board is to advise the publishers on all scientific questions concerning the journal.

The editor in chief, the student assistants and the other members of the editorial staff are provided by the Institute.
